Waterford Valley Pictures is a Toronto based production company helmed by trans non binary creative Lora Campbell.

WVP’s past dramatic productions include the short film Haircut, documentary series The Amanda Palmer Project, and the award winning short documentary Transform which was created and directed by twin sisters Meaghan and Marie Wright. 

Past digital comedy series include a pilot for Telus entitled Super Care, #interns, Yoga 101 and Soul Decision Comedy. Soul Decision was nominated for Best Web Series at the Canadian Comedy Awards 2019. 

WVP’s feature film project 40 Acres, with director RT Thorne goes to camera Spring 2023 while Let’s Do This is slated to go to camera in 2024 with Co- Producers Snail Mail Media (Fonna- Tasha Seidu) Good Question Media (Chris Yurkovich, Daniel Beckerman, Jordan Hart) and Clique Pictures (Lauren Grant).



In 2017 The Beaverton Digital, a year long production from iThentic Media Inc, spanning 150 episodes and helmed by Campbell, was nominated for Best Cross Platform Project by the Canadian Screen Awards.

Lora is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre, National Film Institute, Breaking Through the Lens Program and the current Artistic Director of the ReelAbilities Film Festival. They have produced and directed over two hundred episodes of digital across six series for Hulu, Bell, The Comedy Network and CBC.

Waterford Valley Pictures is dedicated to creating culturally competent digital, feature films and television projects from marginalized voices, centering the disabled and 2SLGBTQAI+ community.

Lora Campbell

Lora Campbell is a disabled transgender non binary (pronouns them/they) Canadian Screen Award nominated director and producer from Newfoundland, Canada who has been creating award winning projects for over a decade. A graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s Producers Lab, their production company Waterford Valley Pictures focuses on exploring stories from underrepresented voices in a multitude of formats including television, documentary, digital and narrative features. Campbell focuses on making sure there is a diversity of voices from script, to screen and is currently the Artistic Director of the ReelAbilities Film Festival Toronto which is dedicated to supporting people living with disabilities in front of and behind the camera.

They have created, produced and directed on numerous digital series including #interns, Yoga 101, and Soul Decision Comedy for CBC Digital. They have directed on the Emmy Award Winning Odd SquadI (PBS) Canadian Screen Award Nominated The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy (Amazon Prime), Calico Chats (Hulu), POV: Me (YouTube) and the upcoming Auntie B’s Place (CBC). They are currently developing numerous feature and television projects including Stonewalled which explores the isolation that non binary people experience in society.
